We assess and provide intervention for infants through to adolescents
Brilliant Star Speech Pathology provides therapy in a safe and familiar environment in Sydney’s Inner West and Hills District. Services are provided mostly in the home, and with permission at the child’s preschool, childcare centre, or school.
We provide comprehensive assessments, therapy and consultations for children and adolescents with speech and language difficulties.

1
Communication and Language Development
We help children express themselves and understand others by improving their vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills.
2
Speech Sounds
Our therapy supports children in refining their pronunciation, addressing sound substitutions, omissions, and other challenges.
3
Fluency (Stuttering)
We provide techniques to help children manage stuttering behaviours like repetitions, blocks, and non-verbal cues, building their speech confidence.
Our Areas of Expertise
We assess and treat children in the following areas:
4
Literacy and Learning
We assist children with reading, writing, and spelling difficulties, supporting their academic success and self-assurance.
5
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
We guide children in using non-verbal tools like gestures, devices, or visual aids to communicate effectively and express their needs.
6
Social Communication
Our therapy helps children develop skills to build relationships, advocate for themselves, and navigate social interactions confidently.
Therapy can take place in our clinic or familiar environments such as the home, school, childcare, preschool settings, or via telehealth. We work collaboratively with teachers, doctors, specialists, and other allied health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to achieving your child’s communication goals.

At Brilliant Star, we recognise that no one knows your child better than you. That’s why we work closely with families, ensuring therapy is tailored to meet the unique needs of both the child and the family. By fostering collaboration and creating a supportive, engaging environment, we empower children and their families to achieve meaningful and lasting success.

What does an assessment involve?assessment involves talking to you, the parent or caregiver, to gather all of the background information about your child and taking your child through a series of activities or play based tasks that are specifically designed to observe their skills in your areas of concern. There are many different ways to carry out assessment of a child’s speech, language and communication needs. Part of the assessment process will involve gathering information from parents, carers and teachers. For some children assessment will be carried out through observation and informal play based activities. For other children we may use a formal assessment that provides a standard score that can be used to compare a child’s progress to the expected levels of development in the area assessed. We will always carry out assessment in a sensitive manner and do our best to ensure that the process is fun and engaging for the child.
