Little scripts lifted from life. This is called Gestalt Language Processing . And it’s not wrong. It’s just different. What Is a Gestalt Language Processor? Most language development follows an analytic path: Single words → two words → longer sentences. Gestalt lang

It looks like shoes hurled across the hallway because someone dared to say, “Time to go.” It looks like charm one minute and chaos the next. If you’ve met this “no,” you might have come across something called PDA — Pathological Demand Avoidance, more recently r

It is hard to estimate how long your child will require therapy. This will depends on the nature of your child's communication difficulty. We will track and discuss their progress each session and when your child is using speech and language at an age appropriate level, therapy will stop.
Speech therapy services are offered in our clinic in Bella Vista. We also provide mobile speech therapy sessions in your child’s school, day-care centres, preschools, and in the comfort of your home. Please call or email us to make an enquiry.
assessment involves talking to you, the parent or caregiver, to gather all of the background information about your child and taking your child through a series of activities or play based tasks that are specifically designed to observe their skills in your areas of concern.
There are many different ways to carry out assessment of a child’s speech, language and communication needs. Part of the assessment process will involve gathering information from parents, carers and teachers. For some children assessment will be carried out through observation and informal play based activities.
For other children we may use a formal assessment that provides a standard score that can be used to compare a child’s progress to the expected levels of development in the area assessed. We will always carry out assessment in a sensitive manner and do our best to ensure that the process is fun and engaging for the child.
Every child’s therapy will be different depending on their needs, but generally therapy can occur during lots of different activities that motivate and interest your child whilst helping them to achieve their individual goals. Therapy is more than just our sessions with your child. We will also support you to be able to use activities and strategies to help your child at home.
